Introductory STEM Activities for Little Learners

2. Spills Oil– In this activity, mix oil and water in a big container and add a few feathers to the mixture. Then pass out materials such as sponges, paper towels, or little spoons and tell your child to separate the oil from the water and feather. You can use this activity to prove how oil spills can affect the environment and let the children observe how the oil harms the feathers, and how difficult it is to remove it from the water.
3. Stick Notes Number Match – With a sheet of paper taped to the wall, and with the help of a marker, you can set up this movement-oriented math activity to help children understand the meaning of numeric values. Instead of memorizing the numbers, this activity, lets children hunt for sticky note numbers and stick them on the walls over the grouping of dots.
4. Crystal Sun Catcher – Creating crystals with salt is a famous science activity. The ingredients used in this experiment are low budget and the outcome is totally enjoyed by your kids. This particular activity involves creating the crystals into a sun catcher. And for some parents who would like to throw some art activity into the mixture.
